I’m Jenny Steadman. A changemaker who’s passionate about building a better world of work and supporting people to develop the inner resources to meet the challenges of everyday life.
About Jenny
As Co-National Director of Potential Project Australia I partner with small to medium enterprises and multi-nationals to deliver evidence-based programs that foster human-centric leadership, enhance resilience and boost overall performance and job satisfaction.
Backed by the weight of Potential Project’s global research into effective leadership, I draw upon decades of experience in corporate roles across Human Resources, Learning and Development and Change Management, along with an MBA, postgraduate qualifications in Project Management and Human Resources, and accreditations in mindfulness training, coaching and behavioural assessments.
I’m incredibly proud to facilitate programs that our clients — across government, consulting, education, finance, consumer goods, and more — consistently describe as “life changing”, “best ever” and “highly recommended”.
This enriching work with national and international clients has also opened the doors for me to MC and moderate panels with some of the world’s brightest and best at major events including the Happiness and its Causes conference, Workplace Wellness Festival and The Thriving Workplace.
In 2024 I was deeply honoured to be keynote speaker at the Dance for Daniel to support the important work of the Daniel Morecombe Foundation, and to speak at TEDx Springwood. These engagements gave me the opportunity to share insights from my own experiences with childhood sexual violence and highlight the importance of shining a light on this formerly taboo topic to create a future where everyone feels safe, supported and empowered to speak up.
One of the core skills that has helped me navigate the challenges of my professional and personal life — including recovery from breast cancer — has been mindfulness. This practice has been a part of my life for more than 35 years and has helped shape who I am today.
That’s why I founded Open Wisdom, to run mindfulness courses for the general public – both online and in the Blue Mountains, near Sydney. As well as decades of experience meditating, I’m a certified Professional Teacher with the International Mindfulness Teachers Association and one of only a handful of people in the state to be a fully certified MBSR teacher, accredited by the Mindfulness Training Institute of Australia and New Zealand.
Ongoing development, certification, study and practice is very important to me.
Here is some evidence of my commitment:
